Call down that spicy, powerful, and truth-seeking Scorpio moon energy with this whiskey, minty twist on the Dark n’ Stormy. The moon in Scorpio can be a time of spice, sensuality, and finances but also a time of deep, internal reflection and transformation. Using Scorpio and Moon-associated blackberry for lust and abundance, ginger for power and inner truth, and the power and hint of spice of Bennett Bitter’s Scorpion bitters, infused with an actual scorpion (let me tell you – can FEEL the energy), this concoction is aligned for power, money, and purification. Rounded out with some clarity-inspiring mint, uplifting triple sec to elevate the concoction, and garnished with a flaming lemon peel garnish that calls to the other of the phoenix side of Scorpio imagery – this concoction is a refreshing mix to imbibe under the Scorprio moon.

Celebrate the dynamic energy of the sensual, powerful, transformative Scorpio Moon with this Scorpio Moon Smash. With blackberry, mint, basil, ginger, orange, whiskey, and dark rum, this is a refreshing and juicy concoction for some Scorpio-inspired intimacy, truth, and abundance.

Ingredients
  

  • 2-3 blackberries
  • 2 leaves basil
  • 7 leaves mint
  • 4-6 drops/dashes Bennett Scorpion Bitters (forego for nonalcoholic version)
  • 1/2 ounce simple syrup (equal parts sugar to water)
  • 1/2 ounce lemon
  • 1/2 ounce triple sec (forego for nonalcoholic version)
  • 1-1.5 ounces whiskey (forego for nonalcoholic version)
  • 1.5 ounces ginger beer
  • 1/2 ounce dark rum float (forego for nonalcoholic version)

Instructions
 

  • Place blackberries, basil, mint, the Scorpion bitters, and simple syrup in bottom of a tall glass. Muddle, and pour in whiskey, lemon juice, triple sec, and ice. Pour in ginger beer and stir, and top with dark rum. Garnish with a flamed lemon peel for some more transformative fire, mint spring and Extra basil leaf.

Notes

Some other optional additions include: rosemary for lunar clarity and purification; 1/4-1/2 creme de violet in place of dark rum or in addition to, for some more Spring Scorpio Vibes for those in the Northern Hemisphere; fresh ginger if you are looking for some more forward spice; and nutmeg for more lunar scorpio abundance.
For nonalcoholic version, simply enjoy without the alcohol additions! Feel free to add some orange juice, or concoct a violet vanilla syrup for extra Scorpio Spring vibes!
