The Empress

Enjoyable with your choice of vodka or Empress 1908 gin, or even alcohol-free, this tropical, pink Venus-inspired recipe is as alluring as it is refreshing.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cherries
  • 1 sprig thyme Optional
  • ½ ounce Passionfruit Real Infused Syrup
  • 1+ ounce grapefruit *up to 1.5 oz for non-alcoholic mocktail
  • 4-6 dashes Rosewater
  • 1 oz Vodka or Empress 1908 Gin *skip for non-alcoholic mocktail
  • ¼ ounce coconut rum *coconut water (can increase to 1/2) or Becketts '27 nonalcoholic Coconut Rum for non-alcoholic mocktail
  • 1-2 ounces Q Mixers Sparkling Grapefruit *or grapefruit soda or sparkling wine (to a lesser amount)
  • Lavender Sprig for Garnish

Method
 

  1. To your shaker, add cherry and passionfruit puree-infused syrup. If desired, add thyme. Muddle the cherry into the syrup.
  2. Add uplifting grapefruit juice, optional rosewater, vodka or Empress 1908 gin for cocktail version and coconut. Add ice and shake.
  3. Stain into glass and top with grapefruit soda. You may decide to keep over ice or strain chilled. Garnish.
