A pomegranate, mint, and orange lemon gin gimlet.

Gemini & Gin

A tangy, exciting libation with pomegranate, mint, orange and lemon to inspire the wit and innovation of the Gemini Moon.
Servings 1 person

Ingredients

  • 10-15 seeds fresh pomegranate
  • 7-10 leaves mint depending on the size
  • 3/4 ounce earl grey simple syrup (1:1 ratio sugar to hot water + earl grey tea - see instructions below. Or just do plain simple syrup)
  • 1 ounce lemon
  • 1.5 ounces gin
  • 1/4-1/2 ounce orange liqueur

Instructions

  • In a cocktail shaker, place pomegranate seeds, mint and earl grey simple. Muddle the mint and pomegranate, so that it is properly expressed and mixed with the other ingredients and turns the mixture a tantaling red. Then pour in lemon, gin, orange liqueur, add ice. Shake the concoction, visualzing the magic of the pomegranate seeds stirring and awakening in the shaker. Strain into a coupe glass and adron with an orange twist and mint sprig.

Notes

Feel free to add some soda water (or possible some champagne?) to make the cocktail less intense. Alternatively, you can serve over ice to allow for dilution.
For a super easy earl grey simple syrup - set a tea kettle to boil. Prepare your earl grey tea bag (or none, if you wish to have just simple syrup) in a mason jar. When ready, measure out about 1/2 cup or desired amount of hot water and pour over the tea bag. Let steep for 5 minutes, then measure out the exact same amount of sugar, and stir into the tea. Let cool and then its ready to use! It's as easy as making tea + adding some sugar.
