Servings: 1 person

Cuisine: American

Ingredients

  • 1 pinch ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch ground clove
  • 2 slices ginger coins/slices
  • 1 barspoon fig preserves
  • 1/2 ounce honey syrup
  • 1/2 ounce lemon freshly juiced
  • 1/4 ounce orange curacao (see notes for nonalcoholic options)

  • Gold Cocktail Glitter
Honey Syrup
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup hot water

Method

  1. A ginger, spices, fig, and honey to shaker. Muddle ginger into honey.
  2. Then add lemon, orange sec, brandy or replacement, and ice to a shaker.
  3. Shake, then double strain into stemmed glassware. Top with a layer of red wine by gently pouring into drink on the back of a spoon.
  4. Garnish with gold-cocktail glitter dusted bay leaves for victory.

Notes

Nonalcoholic Mocktail Options:
For a nonalcoholic rendition, you have a few options. I tested Lyre’s American Malt and Orange Sec.
A strong earl grey brew (double the amount of tea, but same amount of steeping time) and orange juice can also work, just be aware orange juice can add extra sweetness.
