Ingredients
Method
- Tear up bay leaf, and place it with the quarter of a grapefruit slice, and rosemary simple syrup (or rosemary + simple syrup) into your cocktail shaker. Muddle the ingredients together, so that the oils of the bay leaf mix with the citrus and syrup. Them add in lime juice, gin, elderflower liqueur, and ice. Shake and strain into a coupe glass. Add a bay leaf on top for garnish, and/or rosemary sprig.
Notes
Simple Syrup is equal parts sugar to hot water. It keeps a level of consistency in sweetness from drink to drink. Simply mix equal parts of sugar and hot water, and allow to cool before use. For this recipe, I recommend pouring the hot water over rosemary (dried or fresh) and letting it steep like a tea for 5 minutes before mixing in the sugar. This allows for a fun and easy way to add nuanced and unique flavors to your concoctions.
